Feasibility study for a distance learning programme of continuing training for persons involved in the restoration of abandoned architectural heritage sites of the 19th and 20th centuries

The aim of this project is to devise and test components for possible inclusion initially in a continuing training programme for interested parties/workers from different countries involved in the restoration/rehabilitation of industrial buildings.The project is aimed mainly at architects, town planners and local government officials, but also concerns teachers and other players in the sector.The project activities will take place in three phases: phase one to prepare and set up the websites, i.e. the database produced by the "Euromusées 2001" project consisting of sets of data on industrial archaeology, and the training site itself on which the distance learning will be based, Phase two will be for testing the site itself while phase three will consist of the follow-up and involve enhancing or correcting data on the basis of internal and external evaluations.All project partners will be involved in devising the training scheme, in the evaluation and in the dissemination of the results.
