Fashionable, Artistic, So entrepreneurship, Hereditary, Innovative, On lined, New paths, ON THE GO !
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The proposed learning mobility entitled «FASHION (Fashionable, Artistic, So entrepreneurship, Hereditary, Innovative, On lined, New paths) ON THE GO» concerns the Education and Training of a group of six students and two escorts from the Faculty of Costumery and Fashion Design of the Municipal Institute of Vocational Training (IIEK) of the Municipality of Volos, Greece, in the Fashion School Vosonspso in Prague in Czech Republic through a learning mobility for a period of three weeks. Three of the participating students will be in their last semester of studies and the rest will have just been graduated. The collaboration between IIEK of the Municipality of Volos and the Fashion School Vosonspso from Czech Republic, as continuous and multi-layered over the last 15 years, seeks to strengthen and further develop the relations and the exchange of good practices among the two schools and also to respond to the students' demands for enrichment of their curriculum with innovative knowledge and techniques that can be implemented directly during their future exit in the labour market. The Fashion School Vosonspso will provide participants with new techniques for their education, that mainly deal with New Technologies (such as electronic sewing machines, cutting laser machines, software design and clothing manufacturing, etc.), their application in the design, production and promotion of entrepreneurship in the field of Clothing. It will also transfer – to the participants and generally to IIEK - the expertise, the experience and the good practices that it has gained through collaborations with schools and organizations from France (the metropolis of Fashion), from Germany (the first force all over Europe in the know-how and in the commercial management] and from Turkey (the emerging force in the Clothing sector). The preparation of the students at linguistic and cultural level will provide them with additional supplies, not only during their stay in the Czech Republic , but also in their future professional life. Also , the contact and the cooperation between the Greeks and Czechs students, of a similar specialty but of a different culture, in a common language other than their mother tongue, will broaden their horizons and will lead them to the path of a European Conscience and Collectivity, an experience that will be useful in the long term and in the case they will decide to live and work in another EU country. Finally, the improvement of the professional skills of the young students and graduates and also the improvement of their professional skills, will give an incentive for alternative modes of employment, particularly due to the current socioeconomic crisis and the high unemployment rates among young people. The methodology that will be followed by the FASHION ON THE GO project is based on the principles of lifelong learning and in particular on the non - formal learning through the provision of a structured educational framework and work programme, before , during and after the learning mobility. Furthermore, throughout the duration of the project there will be a constant supervision (by the escorts of the sending school and the responsibles of the hosting school) and evaluation of the courses and of internships on the subject, the visits to workplaces and the cultural training of the participants in a "City Museum" (like Prague). From the outcomes of the mobility in a practical and theoretical level, regarding the thamatic of the project, the young participants students-graduates will directly benefit and the escorts-trainers, while the rest students of the 2 schools will indirectly benefit, together with the trainers, and all those who will attend any subsequent presentations-dissemination that will follow this particular mobility. Also , the whole process of application and management of the project will assign an additional experience and expertise to the organizing groups of the two schools that will be helpful in any future proposals, collaborations and networking. Finally, the presentation of results and of the key activities of the learning mobility to the general public and their publication on the websites of the implementing bodies in Greece and in Czech Republic and within the corresponding local press, will induce an added value to the work that is already undertaken by the 2 participating schools.
