Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project is called Fashion Design Students in Portugal. It´s planned for the time period of 12 months between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015. The project is prepared for three groups of Fashion Design students. All participants will be students of third and fourth grade. Some of the participants will be underaged. Therefore, we expect also active role of the accompanying persons – every group will be guided with one such person. Internships will take place in Barcelos, Portugal. In this city our partner organization is seated. Each run of the project will last two weeks, during this time period students will always work at least 10 days for 6 hours a day. Internships for our students will be held in the textile companies and manufactures. Core themes of each internship will be fashion design, working with textiles , textile dyeing , textile printing , designing models on the computer, sewing of clothes, protection methods against pests and logistics within the textile company. The project is a unique opportunity for our students, who would have chance to experience an internship abroad without the support of the Erasmus+ program. With partner organization, we have previously worked on project Leonardo da Vinci. We want to set up this new project on the former successful cooperation and promote the textile industry in the traditional areas of northern Bohemia. The project will be governed by experienced staff who have already experience by international activities management. We want to contribute to the objectives of the Lifelong Learning Programme , Erasmus + respectively. The project is based on the needs to ensure the practical application of acquired theoretical skills of our students. Reestablish cooperation on new project with the Portuguese in the region rich in textile companies was a logical reason for our project application. The aim is setting up 15 internships for our Fashion Design students. They´ll gain practical skills in fashion industry, inspiration and new competencies in the fashion design area. They will practice their English as well. As a result, students will have a better position on the labor market here in Liberec and within the European Union. The project has a positive impact on both our region, where we participate in the revival of the textile industry, and the image of the Czech Republic. With such project we are meeting the objectives of EU education policy. Internships focus on two main activities: real practice/training and gaining experience in companies.
