FAIROPA II : Schülerfirmen für Europa- lernen, ohne es zu merken
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Pupils‘ companies for Europe – learning without realizing? This really works, within the scope of a German-Sicilian Youth Exchange of two ‘pupils’ companies’. FAIROPA II is the follow-up project of a small European network of pupils’ companies which has been initiated last year. Both partners operate pupils’ companies with local products or community-oriented services. They aim at connecting their offerings, learning from each other and exchanging their products. Within the current exchange the Sicilian adolescents collaborate in the pupils’ companies of their German partners and by this means become familiar with their ways of living, their approach to work and their commitment. They are between 13 and 16 years old and come from socially deprived homes, sometimes with additional impairments. It is a primary goal to encourage and motivate them to reach their targets by practice, to increase their knowledge and to develop talents which can be useful for their future career. In order to achieve the goals seven different workshops with nationally mixed participants are offered: builders’ hut FAIROPA, food-culture, encounters while collaborating in the pupils’ company, in the intercultural garden and in daily life, “Lost and found – documentation”,… Each journey leaves marks – therefore the adolescents want to leave something on the spot. Jointly and with professional guidance they create an art object which will remain as a symbol for encounter at a public place. As a follow-up activity a new pupils’ company project is intended to be started next year to allow the encounter with an institute of higher education in Italy.
