MICA - Music Austria wants to develop a Fair Music movement accross Europe based on the UNESCO convention (for recognition and remuneration of artists), to raise awareness on rewarding creativity and give non-Western countries a possibility to break through the music market. The "Fair Music Campaign" would offer a trusted label (for artists and audience) to match their needs in a context of new structural changes linked to new technologies and stress on: musical diversity, recongition and remuneration. The main activities will be: developing legal standards for cultural productions (such as CDs, live concerts, digital), setting up a certification agency, establishing a sustainable innovative distribution scheme and remuneration model (digital, internet, mobile, physical, live), preparing a catalogue of certified fair music repertoire, a marketing campaign, an active network of partners (organisations and individuals), conferences, workshops, fairs, performances.
