Two institutions take part in the project called "Timber industry practice in Turkey".
One of them is the Construction and Timber Industry Vocational School in Kaposvár, Hungary. Their profile also includes training in architecture, sport and engineering.
The other institute is the Yozgat Mesleki Eğitim Merkezi, Yozgat citys Education Center that unites and coordinates the towns' and countys' secondary education programs, and is responsible for the continuous development of the training programs. It has a contact to all training institutes and companies of the town and county. They agreed on organizing a few theoretical and mainly practical courses in their educational center, such as workshops for the participants of the project. They will also organize "job shadowing" visits to companies in the timber industry. It is an accomplished institute with routine in project organizing: they hosted several times as part of de LdV Mobility trainees in their well-equipped workshops.
The participants of the project are students of the carpenter and furniture industry technicians of the Construction and Timber Industry Vocational School Kaposvár (8 participants), and an accompanying teacher. The program of the project was accommodated -in accordance with our partners- to the training needs of the participants. For this reason, 100% of the training will be recognized, as equal to the compulsory summer practice of the participants.
The professional goal of the project is for our students to take an insight into the Turkish timber-industry, get to know its particularities, its' training system and meet the educational and industrial participants of the sector through visits in training institutes and companies of the sector. They will also have the possibility to ameliorate their skills in technical drawing, and in manual and mechanical technologies in the timber industry. Another goal of the project is to develop the linguistic and social skills of the participants.
Additionally, our accompanying teacher will meet new pedagogical methods, technologies and possibilities of innovation in the curriculum that we could adapt to our training system.
The expected profit is that at the end of the project, thanks to their experience abroad, the acquired stable language knowledge, the grown intercultural tolerance, the more open-minded, self-starting personality, the participants will succeed easier on the labor market, their chances of getting a job will rise.
Besides, thanks to the international experiences, the accompanying teacher will have the possibility to meet good routines in the curriculum and efficient pedagogical methods, that we could incorporate in our training system - this way, the quality of our training wil improve. The success of our project could also stimulate other schools to apply for a project. In the long run the project could also start an extensive cooperation on a national and international level.
The main steps of the project are: signing the contracts, selecting and informing the participants, finalizing the program, preparing the transfer, organizing pre-seminars, accomplishing the training program, evaluating and publishing the results.
