The project “Fachbezgranic” (“Profession without borders”) is intended to give a group of 60 students from The Paczkowski Secondary Vocational School in Skierniewice, Poland an opportunity to participate in professional internships. The targeted participant group will include 3rd and 4th grade technical students and 2nd and 3rd grade vocational students with the following concentrations: automotive technician, electromechanical technician, automotive electrician, car mechanic, hairdresser, cook, confectioner, and carpenter. Students will take part in 4 one-month internships, one in each semester within two school years. A group of 15 students will participate in each trip. During the internship, students will be covering subjects contained in the core vocational school curriculum. The internship will count toward the number of hours of practical vocational training that students have to complete during their secondary education.The overall objective of the project is to develop practical vocational skills and foreign language skills, as well as foster the creative potential of student participants and thus improve the quality and attractiveness of vocational education. In terms of professional needs, the main project goals are to: 1. Foster participants’ creativity and entrepreneurship skills. 2. Improve participants’ foreign language skills, raise cultural awareness, and foster openness and sensitivity to cultural differences. 3. Enable participants to acquirepractical vocational skills. 4. Improve participants’ mobility on the European job market. 5. Implement innovative educational solutions to improve participants’ professional qualifications. Expected benefits after completing a one month internship: - Gaining familiarity with the organization of work in German companies, better understanding of employee-employer relationship dynamics, improved interpersonal skills in the work environment, increased sense of responsibility and greater dependability. This will help improve the quality and attractiveness of vocational education. - Students will become more self-sufficient, learn how to adapt to the new environment, and communicate in a foreign language. - The internship will have a positive impact on mobility of the future workforce and their willingness and openness to change related to the place of work and residence that may be necessary in order to find employment. - An opportunity to work in modern, well equipped facilities compliant with stringent European standards. The benefits will increase the attractiveness of The Paczkowski Secondary Vocational School in Skierniewice to potential future applicants, and improve the economic growth in our region, all in accordance with the Lisbon Strategy, which intends to make Europe the most competitive economy in the world.
