EXPLORING EUROPE - INCREASING KEY COMPETENCES
Start date: Jan 1, 2016, End date: Sep 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The EVS-Project "Exploring Europe - Increasing key competences" is part of a long-term European-Voluntary-Service (duration: 9 months). As a follow-up to a EVS-project 2014, its overall goal is to improve the EU-related knowledge of the volunteer. Moreover, the volunteer is expected to interact with Thuringian citizens, in order to promote civic participation and to strengthen its authenticity, especially among young people. Working at the European Information-Centre at the Thuringian State Chancellery, the volunteer is put under purposeful, practice-oriented supervision. Close interaction with the EIZ-Team and a wide range of EU-related tasks will enable him to master increasing challenges and to take on a growing number of own responsabilities. These tasks will mainly revolve around EU-related issues, such as participation, active citizenship, sustainability, regional development and european youth programmes like Erasmus+. The volunteer will work closely together with experienced colleagues who are going to provide guidance and support both pedagogically and professionally. The overall goal is to enable him to develop his own european key competences, as well as vested interests in EU-policy-making and to come up with new ideas for our conceptual work, based on his individual cultural background. In this regard, the Informagiovani del Comune di Sarezzo is an excellent international partner possessing a broad experience as an EVS sending-organisation.
