After participation in the project Envolv'artes held in Sardinia, which was addressed to promote new experiences and practical alternatives based on art and culture as a response to current and emerging realities at the local level, young people showed a great motivation to give continue the project, this time in Portugal. The territorial identity is centered on originality and uniqueness of geographical realities of regions concept, which has been increasingly recognized as a factor of competitiveness, before the forces of globalization. Faced with globalization, it becomes necessary to identify the specificities of localities and their resources. Therefore, we intend to conduct this project for young people to know their identity, find out where they live, as well as a taste for culture, values and traditions. Also, find out that there are alternative careers, thus contributing to the search for new solutions to face youth unemployment and therefore promote new experiences and practical alternatives based in the arts and crafts. Still, we hope to spread in our territories existing good practices in Sardinia. The objectives of the project to produce the taste / appreciation of values, traditions and cultures of the place of belonging, enabling youth to develop the taste for the place; promote mutual aid, self-esteem, responsibility and autonomy, contributing to the acquisition of personal, social and professional skills; sensitize the youth about the importance of their participation in community development, promoting entrepreneurship; promote new forms of entrepreneurship and foster initiatives for the preservation and revitalization of the material and cultural heritage, stimulating job creation; strengthen language skills; raise awareness of European citizenship and sustainable growth; to provide youth and intercultural communities. Participate 22 youths Portuguese and Italians, 18 to 30 years, more 4 group leaders, residents in rural regions with indices of social exclusion. In this project a participatory methodology, based on techniques of non-formal and informal will be applied. The activity will be implemented in Viana do Castelo. To achieve the objectives of the project young people will present what inventoried and investigated in preparation relating to arts and crafts, as well as initiatives for the preservation and revitalization of the material and cultural heritage. This phase of sharing, will serve as a basis for discussion and reflection on the influence of the arts and crafts to promote local identity, entrepreneurship and employment, as well as for the preparation of the Roadmap Experiment'arte and script of the video. The script will allow participants to meet youth associations in the district of Viana do Castelo and other institutions that work and promote the arts and crafts as a symbol of local identity and job creation. There will also be trips to the city of Gondomar (filigrana artisans) to Porto (Association of Artisans of the North of Portugal), and the city of Braga (sacred art and artisans of musical instruments). In the last days, youngsters will treat the information collected for the construction of the promotional video. This time will also allow reflection on new paths and professions, this time of crisis as an opportunity for entrepreneurship. In this activity youth will have moments of visiting cultural places of nature, living and leisure. The results and impacts of this project hope the young Portuguese discover the potential of their local and available to contribute to new projects aimed at boosting their territories. Still, it is intended that young Italians can take existing good practices in our region and can disseminate them in their territories, also contributing to entrepreneurship and job creation. Participants will have an active role in all scheduled activities and thus realize that it is necessary to engage in an active civic participation and, consequently, in seeking solutions to the problems that affect the lives of their community and Europe. Still, this project will cause an increase of information and the feeling of being able to participate, the critical sense and tolerance. Still, with the activities outlined, will acquire skills and social, civic, communicational, linguistic skills. In this project the local community will also get to know your region, your identity and potential of their territories. Still, the viewing of the final product may also arouse the interest and motivation of other young people to replicate the process in their territories in order to develop them and to create employment opportunities.
