Exchanging social and outdoor practices - Job Shadow

Two residential youth centers joined forces in the "Exchanging social and outdoor practices - Job Shadow" - project, which brought move 2 (social) youth work professionals from 2 organisations (Metsäkartano Youth Centre, FI & bsj Marburg, GER) during October 2014 - February 2015 to visit, follow and learn from each others' approaches and practices. Participants from both organisations have been selected to represent and engage their selves in each others educational activities, and share, learn and contribute to the existing methodologies of each partnering residential centre. The project will be two-fold: 10 days Job Shadow Oct 2014 - 1 participant from Finland going to Germany, focusing and supporting professional youth workers on a social youth work camp involving 25-30 young people with fewer opportunities 12 days Job Shadow Jan-Feb 2015 - 1 Participant from Germany going to Germany, focusing on supporting and learning from youth workers setting up and delivering 2 seperate social youth work camps in Metsäkartano youth center The main aim of the project was to develop the quality of youth work carried out in both of the partnering organisations and their networks through the following objectives: - Sharing good practices and methodologies of social youth work - Developing skills of individuals to take on coordination of an international youth project - Further developing cooperation of the partner organisations, and applying for a youth exchange to follow the Job Shadow cooperation, involving young people from the social youth work context - Deepening understanding towards different (European) approaches towards social youth work
