Exchanging Knowledge about the Traditional Professions in Europe

During the ExProfessions implementation its partners focused on accumulating and exchanging knowledge concerning traditional professions, as well as their role in the shaping of the cultural identity of their respective regions. The knowledge that was being disseminated by the project was related to the practitioners' own background and to the countries of origin and is not included within the context of the official educational systems.Elders and other people exchanged experiences and knowledge related to traditional professions and made known them to other European regions as well as to the new generation through live demonstrations and in situ lessons as well as by the use of modern Information and Communication Technology. In the end of each meeting, particular evaluation was taking place via the circulation of anonymous questionnaires among the participants. A session of the closing meeting of Bodzanow was dedicated to a conclusive evaluation. Information concerning the above activities were published on the project web-site (http://www.dimos-moudrou.gr/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=616&Itemid=919) while the description of the traditional professions and professionals are presented at the web-site www.exprofessions.eu. Both web-sites contribute effectively to the promotion of the collected knowledge. For securing the project sustainability, the partners established a transnational network composed of the organizations, agencies and professionals who were involved in its implementation. New members from more areas and countries are to join the network.
