Exchange of capacity on voluntary service in Roma organizations of the Phiren Amenca network
Start date: Feb 1, 2015, End date: Nov 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project "Exchange of capacity on voluntary service in Roma organizations of the Phiren Amenca network" provides the opportunity for two youth workers to deepen their knowledge in the field of voluntary service and international cooperation. The involved organizations work together in the Phiren Amenca network of Roma and non-Roma volunteers and voluntary service organizations and want to address the need for intense co-working periods which will serve on the one-hand the exchange of capacities of the staff of the organizations, and on the other hand the development of common long-term strategies for the implementation of voluntary service projects through the exchange of experience of the current development in the different countries. The aim of the project is to enable the exchange of experience between three Roma organizations involved in working with the European voluntary service, by the practical involvement of two youth workers in the daily work in the organization in a clearly defined working field. This exchange will provide the participating youth workers with important learning opportunities which they will later implement in their own work in Amaro Drom. On the other hand they bring in their experiences from Germany to a new context, where it will be useful for the further development of the local and common structures. They will exchange also on ways to raise more awareness for the situations of people with Roma background and how it is possible to involve more young Roma in voluntary service programs and formulate recommendations building on the experiences from more than one country, as a result of this project, wich will be brought back to the network. The participants will engage in the development of locally adapted strategies for building a sustainable voluntary service program in Albania and the preparation of an international youth event with former and current volunteers in Cluj, the European Youth Capital 2015, organized by the RGDTS office in Hungary.
