EXCEED THE WALL
Start date: Sep 1, 2015, End date: Nov 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Project - Exeed the wall- wishes to offer an alternative for young people to express their ideas to their peevs and the community. The activity of young people in small fairs of Estonia and neighbouring Latvia, tends to be low regardless of the local authorities attempt to affect young people and give them opporturinities for self- realisation, young people´s opinion is not heard much. The reason may not be in the lack of ideas, but in the formality of self- realisatsion which decreases the opportunities of creative self- realisatsion. The imaginary wall between the young and the rest of the community makes them feel unnecessary in society ( which affects their election activity and social belonging). Still, the young are able to offer innovative solutions and views that are worth taking into consideration. The project gives the opprutunity to students aged from 15- 19 from Rakvere and Riga and Ventspils for creative self -realisation through aduiovisual media eg shortfilms or clips. Shortfilms allow the young to handle problems in community and society. Since filmart is quite popular among the young and contains narration, scenography and also the tehnical side in filming. People with different skills and talents get the oppurtunity for self- realisation depending on their personal wishes and goals. Filmmaking is a creative progress which is closely connected with teamwork and cognition. Collective filmmaking allows the young to discuss the chosen topic and through each others oppinions and ideas understand better. Our aim is to use filmmaking as the best way of expressing the social-critical ideas of the young. The project aims to reach 600 sutdents, 200 in every partnercountries. And 400 students through additional workshops. In addition the students we would like 800 people to visit our festival. The main purpose of the prject is to allow the young to map the strenghts and weakenesses of community, define themselves as a part of society and discuss different solutions. Eventually the young should be able to express theid thought through adiovisual media. To achieve our goals there will be different discussions based on the problems handled beforehand. There will be projectdays that teach the realisation of ideas and the introduce the tehnology used in filmmaking. The shortfilms will be presented in August 2016 in the filmfestival of the project in Rakvere. Where the shortfilms of the young from both countries will compete with each other. The contsetents get professional feedback and the best works will be acknowledged. The festival wished to highlighte the creativity and activity of the young through presenting different way of self-realisation (nätiused) on the streets. The creativity of the young to the local community. The project is conducted by international project team from all the partnercountries. The leader of the project is the six-member group from Estonia, who all have been part of organising national filmfestival. The previous skills and knowledge are wished to be improverd and shared with the partner. For the Latvian organisation Baltic Youth Way is important to strenghten the cooperation between the asociations of the Baltic countries and to tutor the young by offering them to aquire new skills with big empahsis on personal development. The other Latvian partner Ventspils Youth Council puts the main emphasis on improving the creativity of the young and personal inicative and ability to conduct and organise. Our message of the project - We bring the World to you- wishes to introduce and compare the ideas of the young from different cultures. At the same time similar discussions and projectdays will conducted in the partnercountries. The members of the project team improve their teamwork and socialskills and to get the experience of conducting a project and leading a team. As a result we wish to raise the activity on a local level and encourage the young to be more creative and eager. The participate of the project is able to express ideas through audiovisal media and have tehnical skills to take up similar creative projects. The also have the change to express their creations, ideas and speak up for themselves. The leaders of the project have practical skills in conducting personal initiative and leading a team, that can be shared as a good example in other countries as well in Estonia.
