July 01 - August 31, 2015, two honorary young Kurds from Turkey, who are active volunteers in a youth organization in Diyarbakir, Turkey, will do their European Voluntary Service (EVS) at JANUN, a german youth organization, in Hannover. During their time they will learn about JANUN´s work and objectives as well as be part of different projects. The activities are in line with their field of interest, since they have been working a lot with children and international exchange programs in the past. It is their ambition to use their experience as art and german teachers at a turkish school in the future. Besides planning and executing workshops for children during the EVS, the preparation and implementation of three international youth exchange programs will be a priority. The themes of these workshops will be environmental science education and intercultural learning. As part of the EVS a small booklet about methods of environmental science education will be written and published in turkish. The second objective of this EVS includes a knowledge and information transfer between the two partner organizations, JANUN eV and Youth and Change Organization, who have been working together for three years. A complementary goal is to intensify the relationship between the city of Hannover and Diyarbakir, who are considering the option of creating a twin-city partnership.
