EVS in AIESEC, Mládež ulice, SPOSA
Start date: Aug 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Project is a result of a new cooperation between 4 NGOs in Bratislava: Mladiinfo, AIESEC, Mládež ulice and SPOSA. Mladiinfo will act as EVS coordinating organization for 4 long term EVS volunteers:- 2 long term EVS volunteers for experienced hosting organization SPOSA (from Czech republic and Poland, will be selected later),- 1 long term volunteer for Mládež ulice (from Czech republic, will be selected later), - 1 long term EVS volunteer for a newly accredited hosting organization AIESEC Slovensko (volunteer from Romania was selected). This is the second time Mladiinfo Slovensko is applying for a coordinating projects in a cooperation with other NGOs in Bratislava. We would like to build on our first year experience as coordinating organization. We have learned first skills in this area, managed the common accommodation for the volunteers, provided them with personal mentors (mostly former EVS volunteers we have send abroad, working in Bratislava at the moment) and caring monthly questionnaires about the volunteers and also the organizations satisfaction. Good results till now motivate us to continue with second year of EVS coordinating for Mládež ulice and include new partners interested in EVS hosting SPOSA and newly accredited hosting organization AIESEC (we believe AIESEC has a great potential in EVS hosting field and can offer quality EVS experience). Our primary objective is to provide quality EVS volunteering positions for 4 long term EVS volunteers in 3 hosting organizations in Bratislava in the period August 2016 till February 2017.Through taking part in activities and working on the tasks related to the mission and agenda of involved hosting organisations, however different, the project will provide space and possibility to: raise volunteers' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries and actively participate in society. The volunteers will acquire new experiences, new skills, and gain independence. They will get in touch with different cultures and work for a project useful for the local community of the hosting country Slovakia. The volunteers will learn to live with people from different backgrounds, with different cultural traditions and will acknowledge the diversity. They will discover Slovakia, with its social, economic, cultural realities beyond the stereotypes.Involved organizations view project as very important with an expectation of high impact not only on the participants and the local community, but also on strengthening cooperation between the organizations. With this project Mladiinfo as applicant expects to create a solid strng basis for future coordinating projects in Bratislava and beyond, with more hosting organizations getting interested and involved in hosting international volunteers within EVS program.
