EVS - Green inclusion at Cuckoo's farm
Start date: Jan 1, 2016, End date: Jul 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

In this project "Green inclusion at Cuckoo's farm" we want to create new opportunities for early school-leavers.Too many young people leave school prematurely running a high risk of being unemployed and socially marginalised. Fighting rising levels of unemployment, particularly among young people, has become one of the most urgent tasks for European governments (Erasmus+ Programme Guide -Part A and Europe 2020 Strategy). This project is providing four early school-leavers with practical skills and knowledge in the environmental area, while allowing them to play an active role in society and achieve personal fulfilment. The young EVS volunteers (two teams with gender balance, March-April and May-June 2016) will be involved in the activities at Cuckoo's farm, offering several formative actions in the intercultural sphere with focus on environmental protection, tolerance and the increase of life quality. The project aims at creating environmental awareness through a centre of environmental service, producing biological goods, packing and clothes reutilization which main goal is the connection with the local community. In this project we will use the EVS inclusion tools: short-term EVS projects and reinforced mentorship. We will carry-out additional preparation activities, with special focus on the individual challenges of the volunteers, risk asssesment, conflict management, and make a plan for the time after the EVS. After the departure the young volunteers will have the support and accompaniment of professionals who will be present during the whole project period and will give help regarding the development of the activities foreseen for this project in a successful way. According to Erasmus+ - Inclusion and Diversity Strategy in the field of youth (December 2014), the project "Green inclusion at Cuckoo's farm" is based on a solid partnership between two very experienced EVS partners. The results will be evaluated thoroughly through our own evaluation proces in addition to the normal EVS evaluation, in order to increase the quality of the projects every time. We will analyze the long-term benefits by asking the volunteer to fill inn a questionnaire one year after the final date of the EVS project.
