EVS FOR CASA DELLA ROSA

This 9 months project allowed 1 volunteer to take part in voluntary activities in favour of children and youngsters belonging to disadvantaged families. Teresa Rivas Rodriguez from Spain did her European Volunteer Service at Casa della rosa (Goito, Mantua), Associazione Abramo's center for women and children. Teresa helped the staff in carrying out leisure time activities, intercultural and creative workshops, excursions and after-school support. She had the chance to design and implement a personal activity, according to her skills and interests. Besides, she enhanced european awareness among the children and youngsters and supported the local youth and social policies.
The aims of this project were: provide an intercultural experience in a non-formal context, promote social integration and active participation, enhance future occupability and give the chance to express solidarity to other people and support to local communities. A pro-active methodology has been be used, stimulating curiosity and a dynamic approach.
Alce Nero has been responsible for the coordination of the project with the sending and host organisations and for the distribution of the grant among the partners, in line to their respective responsabilities.
Alce Nero gave support to both organisations during all the process, from the volunteer's selection to the final evaluation of the project. Alce Nero has been then present during all the development of the project, welcoming the volunteer at her arrival, introducing and supervising the evolution of the project for its whole duration and falicitating her participation to the on arrival training and mid term evaluation.
Alce Nero guaranteed also to be present for the learning process and the insertion in the service and ensure a common thematic approach and regular contacts with the other european volunteers of Mantua, in order to improve the impact, accessibility and visibility of the European Volunteer Service.
