EVS Carral: Let´s experience volunteering!
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: May 1, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project " EVS Carral: Let's experience volunteering!" will be developed during a period of 12 months, being promoted by the Town Council of Carral (Spain) in collaboration with two other European municipalities, City Council of Prato (Italy) and City of Slupsk (Poland). The project was designed to provide a volunteering experience of 6 months, in another European country, to young people preferably between 18 and 30 years old, who are in an inactivity situation and have fewer opportunities in the labor integration. The primary objective of this project proposal is to provide to these young people a mobility opportunity in order to foster the transversal and technical pre-work skills for the improvement of their employability, as an experience of active participation in the life of hosting local communities; the participation will have a positive impact on those communities, encouraging the local and European volunteering as well as the sense of belonging to the EU and thus, the establishment of joint values of cultural diversity, solidarity, tolerance and coexistence. As an immediate result, the project expects to improve the skills of the young participants, as well as promoting the European mobility activities in general and EVS in particular, among rural youth. It also aims to create a network of collaboration between municipalities for future European projects that also enable the exchange of experiences and good practices.
