European house of games is a common project of the Voluntary association of municipalities of Microregion of Valašskomeziříčsko-Kelečsko from the Czech Republic and the town of Partizánske from the Slovak Republic. The town Valašské Meziříčí, as the centre of the Microregion Valašskomeziříčsko-Kelečsko, has been cooperating with the town Partizánske and in 2014 both towns signed the partnership agreement.
Objective of the project is to create the conditions for meaningful and unconventional use of free time of youths. Project is aimed at creating of the fun but educational activities and at ensuring adequate material and technical equipment for implementation of those activities. Target group of the project comprises of young people aged 13 to 18 years, especially those who are affected by the socio-pathological phenomena. Project outputs will be also used by national minorities, unorganized bored youth, disabled youth and vulnerable groups of young people (for example in the case of early school leaving).
Project will consist two phases. The project staff and youth first will manufacture games and create methodology sheets. They together will create the European house of games. Then it will be open and used by youth in free time for their informal education. Realization of project will include training of youth workers and also of youths.
Youth from the Microregion of Valašskomeziříčsko-Kelečsko and the town of Partizánske will manufacture with workers of project 3 sets of games. First set will be a permanent part of youth organization from Valašské Meziříčí called Klub Vrtule. Two sets of games will be mobile – the first one for the town of Partizánske and the second one for municipalities of Microregion of Valašskomeziříčsko-Kelečsko. Each set will consist from 5 games about Europe. Emphasis will be placed on interactivity of games, educational ability and attractiveness for young people. Project staff will organize also interactive workshops called Kaleidoskop. These meetings for visitors in European house of games will be based on exchange of experience and information on Europe (geographical and also political).
Implementation of the project will promote non-formal education. Young people will acquire knowledge about Europe and they will strengthen their logical thinking. Youth will be encouraged to further self-education.
