Европейското гражданство - многоцветна възможност (European citizenship - colourful opportunity)
Start date: Jun 17, 2014, End date: Nov 30, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

The idea of the project “The European citizenship - a colourful opportunity” came as a result of non-formal discussions and talks between the participants in a previous project coordinated by Know and Can Association, “Forum Friends” implemented in 2012. Representatives of the partner organizations discussed the main problems of young people in their countries as well as the lack of the adequate knowledge, skills and experience of youth workers to help young people in an appropriate way. After these talks the participants came to an idea that a training connected to youth entrepreneurship and the provision of a greater awareness about the European citizenship, the rights, duties and opportunities resulting of it, would be of great benefit for them in their capacity of youth leaders and workers. The realization of the project is aimed at the establishment of new competences and practical skills of the participants as well as the increasing of their awareness about the European citizenship. We reckon that this will be accomplished through trainings in entrepreneurship and social skills, which are needed for a successful professional realization. The trainings include working in a team and leadership skills, innovative practices, creativity and creative thinking, decision making and conflict resolution. A greater awareness of the participants about the rights and opportunities given by European citizenship, will be achieved through an exchange of experience and good practices, presentations, discussions and role games. The project “The European citizenship- a colourful opportunity” foresees a 9 day training in Bulgaria for 32 youth leaders and workers from 6 organizations from Bulgaria, Hungary, Turkey, Italy, France, and Latvia. The training is aimed at participants, who have an experience in working with young people and are motivated to improve the quality of their work. Within the framework of the project various non-formal working methods will be conducted: interactive role games, simulations, analysis of real life stories, discussions and looking for a solution, workshops, presentations, working in small intercultural groups. The participants will have the chance to share their experience in their work with youth as well as their values, attitudes and expectations. After the end of the training the youth workers will have the necessary knowledge, skills and competences, which will make their future work with young people more effective. The latter will lead to the increasing of the capacity of the organizations they are working for.
