The project "European experience in the catering industry", initiated by the Professional School of Tourism "Prof. d-r Asen Zlatarov" - Kardzhali will be implemented jointly with the partner organization «Sistema Turismo srl» - Italy. The need for the project is determined by the importance of tourism for the development of the Bulgarian economy and consistent with the "Strategy for the development of tourism in Kardzhali district for the period 2012-2015." The specific proposal is to send young people practice in Italy to learn the specifics of restaurants and catering with an emphasis on organizing and servicing of catering events and preparing special dishes of Mediterranean cuisine. The project aim is to improve the competitiveness of the users, by improving the professional and language skills in a real work environment in accordance with the requirements of the labor market and European quality standards. TARGET GROUP: 25 students in initial vocational training areas: "Hotel, restaurant and catering", "Food Technology" and "Organization of Tourism and Leisure", a mixed group of boys and girls, including minorities from the Kardzhali region. NEEDS: - Improvement of professional skills; - Familiarity with the organization and operation of catering events and preparing special dishes of Mediterranean cuisine; - Increase cultural awareness and enrichment of language skills; - Search for new techniques and technologies in the field of nutrition and tourism and development of the necessary core competencies and professional qualifications - aesthetic sense, creativity, teamwork and cultural behavior. OBJECTIVES: - Improving the professional skills of users and enhancing language skills; - Implementation of practical link between education and its actual application in different environments; - Improving the quality of vocational education. EXPECTED RESULTS: - Knowledge and skills for the organization and operation of catering events and preparing special dishes of Mediterranean cuisine; - Gained a rich experience, high professional and personal self-esteem; - Increased chance of realization in the labor market; - Improved language skills. The project will be implemented within 12 months. Practice will be held in the city of Rimini, Italy in a stream in July 2015. Practical training will be held at renowned hotels, restaurants and entertainment on your partner agreed work program. Topics covered in it are selected to upgrade the school acquired knowledge and skills and the formation of new specific profession. Assessment resulting from the practice in Italy will be recognized at school for assessing the production practice, which is an integral part of the curriculum. Certificate, issued by partners would increase the likelihood of realization. The useful ideas and positive experiences of participating of our vocational school in this project will create competitive and innovative catering product that can meet the market requirements.
