Eveil aux langues et première découverte de la culture anglo-saxonne auprès d'enfants de moins de 6 ans dont la langue maternelle est souvent différente de la langue de l'école.
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Pressavois is a French Preschool in town classified« RRS » (Network school success). At the beginning of the next school year, it will be part of the Educational Priority Area (REP+). This school consists of 5 classrooms with pupils from 2 to 6 years old. This Educational Priority area incites us to participate in local projects, to collaborate with other schools and local organizations established in our area. We took a time to think about our new school project which will start at the beginning of the next school year (September 2015) and will last 3 years. In this context, our Educational Team wishes to take part in a federative and innovative project. So, under the dynamic of colleagues particularly aware of English language and culture as something important for our pupils, all our Educational Team (6 teachers) has worked together to draw up this Erasmus+ project. We have been a stable team for years with different school curriculum and we need to improve our knowledge in English so that each of us can feel comfortable with our young pupils. This Erasmus+ project will enable us to develop our knowledge in counting rhymes, songs, story books and improve our knowledge about English educational system, culture and teaching methods. We would like to highlight cultural diversity already in place in our school thanks to languages projects, including English, recognized as indispensable for pupils future plans. Our project goal is to open our school to the external world, to build relationships with families (interventions in classrooms) thanks to foreign languages and also to improve pupils and teachers foreign skills. By the multiculturalism of the area, the connection with the other languages spoken in the families seems to be an opportunity to bring an essential language in our pupils education. Connections can be made between all the languages (counting rhymes, songs, traditional games). In fact, young children have the ability to learn very quickly a new language by listening to different sounds. We would like to make the most of it to work on multilingualism. This partnership delivers a training session (one week in Southampton) and meets our needs: - Cross-cultural and Intergenerational Education - Teaching / Learning Foreign languages - Educational methods and didactic Project promotion will consist in making an exhibition and an end-of-year show with counting rhymes, songs and dancing game, so families and partners can see our school activities around foreign languages (including English). We will also promote our project in other schools around (through teacher training sessions as our inspector asked us to do). Thanks to this cultural opening, pupils and teachers will learn a lot about the external world. They will accentuate partnerships and create new ones, so that our initiative lasts for a long time.
