EUSA 2015 14th Biennial International Conference
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

EUSA's biennial international conference assembles top scholars and practitioners from around the world to present original research on the European integration process. Our conference features nearly 140 panels with about 500 new papers on topics, covering all areas of EU studies. It is an important training milieu for emerging scholars, including those from EU candidate countries, to introduce them to international academic norms and help them establish networks within the community. The conference also provides a venue for representatives from like-minded organizations, such as the European Community Studies Association-Canada, ECSA-World or the University Association for Contemporary European Studies (UK), as well as for EU representatives to discuss current initiatives of European institutions. Our conference begins with a worldwide, open call for panel or paper proposals for the conference program. The EUSA Executive Committee convenes a group of independent EU experts who choose among the proposals and form a coherent conference program. Those whose proposals are not selected for the program are invited to take part in the conference poster sessions. The EUSA Executive Committee also invites keynote speakers, including the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement in EU Studies award. Past recipients include Professors Jeremy Richardson, Fritz Scharpf and Eric Stein. The conference also features EUSA interest section meetings; and some two dozen exhibitors who display and vend their EU-related materials. The EUSA conference is one of the foremost opportunities for leading scholars to share their work, receive feedback, and develop new initiatives and areas of study. Uncounted books and articles, central to European integration studies, have resulted from work presented in the previous twelve EUSA conferences.
