Euroyouth in sports
Start date: Dec 1, 2013,

The projects is a Youth Exchange involving 36 young people from Serbia, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Macedonia and Albania to be held in Deliblato, Serbia, hosted by ECE on the theme of values of volunteering in sports and sport system. The objective of the YE is to reinforce and promote active citizenship by providing the tools for breakthrough to getting involved as a volunteer in sport associations as a means of facilitation of integration in societies, informal education, personal growth & benefit, creating networks & partnerships, gain knowledge, skills and competences, and indirectly raise employability. Young people in Europe today, under the influence of different factors that are brought to us with a new way of life and advanced techniques and technologies, suffer less socializing, direct communicating, and system of values are greatly changed over the past 20 years. Although more and more we talk about tolerance, acceptance of diversity, humanity, kindness and respect – we have it less and less. Despite the facts that about 35 million Europeans are currently giving their time voluntarily to running sport activities and that 90% of sport associations rely on volunteers, unfortunately the main obstacle to volunteering is that young people often are not aware of the existence and activities of these associations, and the opportunities they offer. The YE will utilize workshops, games, exercises, group and practical work on why volunteering is important especially connected to sports, what is brings to the wholesome of society, which unique opportunities it brings, how it increases growth, raises sense of accomplishment and in which way it is a platform for learning new things, gaining new competences and experience, and how it raises employability. The project aims to also promote cross-border cooperation in terms of volunteering.
