EUROVOLUNTARIOS 2015
Start date: Jan 2, 2015, End date: Apr 2, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project was thought Eurovoluntarios 2015 and designed to be held in the city of San Fernando. The context of this city is a city of one hundred thousand inhabitants that major job-creating businesses such as shipbuilding, marine and artisanal salt, no longer generate employment. San Fernando is located in the European region with the worst employment rates, where unemployment exceeds 50%, with the problems of social exclusion risks that this entails. Currently the soup kitchens can not cope with the needs that exist. With this project we intended that four young volunteers from Eastern Europe came to live for a year to our city to participate in all programs that have both sports, environmental, social and especially educational means. These young Europeans who have made their SVE us are four girls aged between 21-26 years in countries with different cultures from ours and have greatly enhanced multiculturalism among young people in our city. The activities have been varied, the main activities of environmental education, volunteering, non-formal education in leisure and promotion of European culture. All these activities were designed and targeted to meet the needs of young people and children in the city. The methodology used for this project was through fun and engaging activities and education for action, ie young people have put into practice the concepts and skills to achieve better learning. With this project we have promoted among young people of San Fernando the desire to learn more about Europe and to acquire skills which then serve them for their future work life. In the long term we have seen how young people see positive membership in Europe and profitability of learning languages and culture of other countries, thus forming more tolerant and democratic youth.
