EUROVOCATION´14
Start date: Sep 15, 2014, End date: Sep 14, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The large majority of the students that are graduated from a vocational training course have the challenge of finding a job. This challenge creates them uncertainty and confusion, because they don’t know where to find it. This situation is more difficult if they want to find a job in a foreign country. Differences in labour legislation and social security of the European countries are a common obstacle. Moreover, our academic institution is concerned with the challenges in the “Horizon 2020” project and we think that it is necessary to work some of these issues with students that will be professionals in a European work environment. For this reason, our academic institution presents a project divided in three small projects which will be worked on the second academic year of vocational training courses (2nd CFGM) of “Network and Microcomputer Systems”, “Administrative Management” and “Electromechanical Installation and Machinery maintenance”. From an enrolment of 56 students, three of them will be selected in order to complete a part of their traineeship in an enterprise or at our VET school partner. The main areas worked in these projects are: 1st - Looking for a job. Could you help me? The main points in this part of the project are: list of companies related to the IT sector where the students can send their job applications forms, guidelines for the creation of the Europass CV, methods to deal with different types of job interviews such as the mother tongue or other languages. The tasks developed are: information and documentation, make a list of IT companies, make an Europass CV, collecting information on job interviews and the presentation of the results. These tasks and the use of E-twinning are intended to provide students with the tools and necessary information to conduct a successful first job search and encourage their employment in the partner countries of the project. 2nd - Differences between Spain and Germany in labour legislation and social security: We will create different teams that will be made up of students from several European academic institutions and they should exchange information regarding contracts, trading systems, payslips, wage and non-wage concepts and payment of contributions. The scholarships will allow to identify these aspects. Teachers explain the project and its goals in two introductory sessions. Several groups are made by members of all participating schools and we schedule the activities, including videoconferencing. Finally, the project findings will be published in E-Twinning. 3rd - Horizon 2020: energy efficiency in Industry: We will analyse how to adapt to European standards described in the "Horizon 2020" project, in section “energy efficiency”. Students will work in groups, analysing what legislation affects businesses in their area, what changes need to occur to accommodate the rules, aid available, etc. There will be three main phases: search for information, the development of different actions and contrasting data. These areas will have an associated project through E-Twinning that will be very useful as an element of collaboration. Each of these three areas worked end up with a student completing a part of his traineeship in an enterprise or at our VET school partner. These students will be a link between the two institutions. Their experiences will be transmitted to other students using ICT or by talks on return. The aim of the results of this project has 5 main goals: 1- Increase the number of students in vocational training courses. 2- Improving the quality of vocational training courses. 3- Improving the International Cooperation and the sense of belonging to the European Union. 4- Linking education, research and innovation. 5- Encourage students to continue their studies with other vocational training courses (CFGS). In addition, we will promote the increase of employment opportunities with elements such as mobility, the use of Europass CV or increasing language skills.
