EuroTT - European Textile Learning Tools

To enhance the competitiveness of SME's in the textile sector and further assist in adjusting to technological change, the EuroTT project will design and test two interactive CD-ROMs, each containing learning modules, at technician/craft worker level, specific to the hosiery and carpet manufacturing sectors. Research reports will also be produced to better explore links to systems of qualification and prospects for developing sector-specific Internet-based learning. Project outcomes will comprise the two learning modules and related multimedia materials (on CD-Rom) in a range of languages (EN, CZ & LT for hosiery and EN, CZ, LT & FR for carpet manufacture) supported by three transnational reports, respectively on the availability of sector-specific ICT-based learning in partner countries (EN), on how to implement training delivery via Internet means (FR, CZ & IT) and on matching the modules to existing national qualification systems (EN). Reports will be available in paper-based and electronic formats. The developed tools expect to provide technician/craft workers with the underpinning knowledge necessary to help them attain national qualifications and to thereby gain further access to continuing vocational training. Awareness-raising during the development phase will be followed by the promotion of products, primarily to training providers, and the dissemination of information on the project approach, methodology and results to a broader range of actors in sectoral organisations and public administration, at regional, national and European level. A final project conference will launch the products and the final report. The partnership expects to continue to work jointly with the support of Euratex.
