To develop a tourism policy in rural environments integrated with other policies as follows: a) economic (agriculture, SMEs); b) social (employment, equal opportunities); c) territorial (planning, environment); d) cultural (preservation of heritage, cultural identity). Exchange of information on the role of tourism in rural development and the cultural identity of regions: a) preservation of heritage (architecture, landscape, handicrafts, traditions), creation of new activities (leisure, trekking, catering, handicrafts, trade, service). b) Joint study of the potential of different types of rural tourism. c) Transfer of experience in organising the “Europe of Traditions” and/or “Traditional Villages” networks to the regions of Veneto (IT), Friuli-Venezia Giulia (IT), Lower Austria (AT), Galicia (ES); d) Consolidation of these networks. Link for operation and partnership on the selected topic for cooperation – a) Topic 5 (Others): given the positive role of dispersed rural tourism in the development of regions — as a complement to economic activity in rural environments; to protect heritage/the environment/ cultural identity; to help regions open up and create activity in rural environments — it is necessary to organise those involved and to include such activity in regional policy. b) The partnership: regional/sub-regional/ local public entities or their equivalents which are interested in the contribution of dispersed rural tourism to regional development and are keen to share their experiences in the organisation and political framing of this activity. c) Operation: i. Study visits and intra-regional meetings for the regional agents with promoters to provide information and share experience on the promotion and regional organisation of activities; ii. Interregional seminars for a joint approach to policies, tools for development and experience in organising this activity; iii. Methods for providing information (data bases)] and promotion (website, catalogue).
