EuroScope
Start date: Sep 1, 2015, End date: Feb 28, 2019 PROJECT  FINISHED

The EuroScope project relies on an innovative teaching methodology, combining research-based teaching, students' involvement in knowledge production, and international comparison. It aims at (1) strengthening European studies at Université de Montréal, (2) creating synergies in research and learning, (3) creating Open Educational Resources, to increase visibility and knowledge on the EU.3 courses will improve and increase course offering: an undergraduate and a graduate course on the EU will be taught every year. The graduate course will be a comparative seminar, involving an innovative collaboration between students from Montreal and from Europe. In addition, an intensive course on minorities (comparing the EU and Canada) will be given in the second year (for graduate students and professionals). The Chair will organize monthly guest conferences during the teaching period, for students to benefit from the experience and knowledge of international scholars and practitioners.Through these activities, the Chair will create synergies by increasing exchanges among students, professors, researchers and society, by extending networks and promoting the exchange of practices and knowledge. Finally, tools will be created to disseminate knowledge on the EU to the public. In all courses, the candidate will guide students in creating computer graphics, research posters, and video clips on the EU. These tools will be available for everyone, via a virtual didactic platform, EuroScope. It aims at becoming a reference point for visual and audiovisual contents on the EU, as well as a space for debating EU news, open to all, at the local and international levels.
