EuroPsy (€() - Project to design a European Diploma of Psychology

The aim of EuroPsy (€() is to provide a common standard for Psychologists across Europe. The project will develop an outline 'European Diploma of Psychology' for later accreditation and implementation on a pan-European scale.Throughout the development (outline diploma, procedures for assessment), review (existing practices) and implementation (national and European) phases, the partnership will make use of its multi-actor composition comprising Universities, professional bodies, trade unions, training consultants and the European Federation of Professional Psychologists Associations (EFPPA). This consultation exercise will assure both qualitative and cross-sector development capable of high impact upon the sector.Project beneficiaries include current & future psychology students, able to benefit from increased professional mobility and access to a common European qualification, in addition to potential future employers able to benefit from a more transparent, standardised Psychology qualification in reviewing potential employees. Results of the project will be output to the common EuroPsyT website, which will act as a platform for the introduction of the newly developed Diploma, in addition to providing background data on the development and accreditation procedures. The site will further include the results of the nine workshop meetings intended to further develop the multi-actor partnership.
