Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The main objective of the project "European standards in Polish vocational education" is to increase the attractiveness of vocational education and the quality of work of the School of Electronic and Information in Giżycko. The main activities of the project are: 1) A trip of the two 20-person groups of third grade students of our team to Austria in order to serve a two-week apprenticeship. Priority which we intend to achieve here is to increase the chances of young people in the labor market. Learning by our students methods of work organization and labor requirements in the Austrian workplace, will raise their motivation to continue acquiring their knowledge and skills, as well as encourage their further education. The holding of foreign practices certified by an appropriate certificate will increase their chances of finding a good job in Poland or abroad and expand their social and interpersonal skills. 2) A trip of 15 teachers of vocational subjects to Spain for a week in order to get acquainted with the Spanish system of vocational education. Teachers will have the opportunity to see some technical schools, observe their laboratory and practical classes. And also experience professional exchange with Spanish teachers. They will learn ways of connecting the theory of general education and professional practice. They will get to know how the knowledge –oriented teaching is carried out in Spanish schools. The same will concern competences and skills, and how to run a quality management. Through the project, teachers of vocational subjects will improve their professional skills. The project will help establish new contacts at the professional level; it will also support the "flow of ideas" between the professional groups. All participants will develop their language skills and expand their knowledge about the cultural heritage of the country where they will be staying, which in turn will enable them to understand better the process of European integration. It is planned to include the mobility of teachers and students to long-term development strategy of the school - European School Development Plan. As well as creation and development of the partnership, which will allow for cyclical and effective implementation of the above-mentioned objectives of the project. Realization of the project by increasing the competence of teachers and increasing the skills of students will help to raise quality of school work and provide its attractiveness at the local education market.
