The "European professional competence in plus!" project was prepared along with the partners: VITALIS Betreuungsgesellschaft für Modellprojekte mbH (Germany – the internship was served by the students from the fields of: mechanic and electronics technician) and EUROPROYECTOS LEONARDO DA VINCI S.L. (Spain – the internship was served by the students from the fields of: IT technician and organization of advertising techniques). The project was an answer to a range of students’ needs, such as professional/educational (including linguistic), social and personal ones. It was also an opportunity to level the obstacles connected with professional mobility through raising the linguistic competence (English/German/Spanish – mainly the professional vocabulary) and become acquainted with market requirements of partner EU countries (Germany, Spain). Substantive issues of the project were consulted with and reviewed by the cooperators of the school – companies: ZETO Rzeszów, WSK PZL -Rzeszów S.A., POSD Rzeszów, Echo-Fon System oraz CC-Metal. The main aim of the project was to acquire practical skills in the use of modern technologies and design tools associated with the field of their education as well as the development of soft and language skills by the ZST students throughout their internship. In addition, the participants used the graphic packages of utility and tool software, they learnt and applied professional terminology (English language), stimulated the development of interpersonal skills and shaped the pro-European attitudes, breaking down cultural stereotypes. The project was addressed to a group of the ZST students - Technical School No. 9 in Rzeszow (aged 17-20) enrolled in the professions: IT technician - 16 participants, mechanic technician - 14 participants, electronics technician - 14 participants and organization of advertising techniques - 14 participants. The participants were divided into 4 groups, each taking into account the profession. There was a tutor departing with each group – a seconded teacher of the ZST Rzeszow. The internship for each group lasted 3 weeks (15 working days of classes). The topics were related to the following areas: programming web sites, computer typesetting and installation of video materials, design and programming of printing devices in 3D technology and the use of modern design tools as well as CNC machine tools in the industry. Each of the four groups within the internship held professional training and got acquainted with a language and cultural program. Each participant took / realized / she received: 30 hours of English classes (mainly professional vocabulary); 15 hours of training of German or Spanish (adequately to the place of residence); 90 hours of practice and training in line with the theme of the project; Europass Mobility certificate and a certificate of competence acquisition; Europass Mobility certificate and a certificate of competence acquisition; internship confirmed by the relevant certificate. Each of the participants during the evaluation meetings indicated: increase the competence and professional aspirations; an increase in language competence (communication, collaboration, professional vocabulary); increase mobility; increase motivation, learning about the culture, traditions and conditions for the organization of life and work; improvement of the quality and attractiveness of vocational education in school. The participants also emphasized: the enrichment of interpersonal contacts, elimination of stereotyped perception of different cultures, skills - conflict resolution, coping with stress, acclimatization to the new environment, developing assertiveness. Different groups of trainees have developed durable products of the project: presentations and photographic coverage disseminating the activities and results of the project - each of the groups; prints, applications and printing materials produced during the project work - the group organizing of advertising techniques; a website and a guide produced during the graphics workshop - a group of information technology; a fully operational model of a 3D printer with the software - electronic group. Wide disseminating activities included: the use of social media, printed materials, events, meetings, educational fairs, special interest groups, the institutions cooperating with the school, which directly contributed to reach a wide audience to ensure adequate level of impact.
