EUROPEJSKIE INSPIRACJE KULTURALNE
Start date: Aug 1, 2016, End date: Oct 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The purpose of the EUROPEAN CULTURAL INSPIRATIONS project is the creation of intercultural space, in which the volunteers from France and Spain will broaden their horizons, learn languages, experience cultures, learn about the community and meet people. Our goal is to spark initiative, creativity and active participation of the youth in cultural and social life of Piekary Śląskie. The project promotes European cooperation of the youth and is international. Young people, by functioning in a new environment, will enrich their intercultural competence and positively affect the various social groups of our city. They will learn through practice and expand their knowledge. The activities create opportunity to gain new competence through non-formal education. The project aims for the development of our library through knowledge, innovation and creativity with active participation of the volunteers. It will create an opportunity to expand our cultural offer with new activities, which guarantees larger interest in Europe's cultural variety coming from the local community. The project design and planned actions give volunteers work opportunities also outside the library for example in kindergartens, schools, therapeutic clubroom, children's home. These are places where the volunteers, thanks to their activities in the field of culture, will promote the international dimension of the project. It will be an excellent platform for popularizing activities, effects, and presenting the cultural richness of Europe. The project gives young people opportunities to play an active role in the local communities in Poland (during the course of the project) and later, in their homelands. It develops the sense of solidarity, tolerance and responsibility. It serves strengthening the communal integrity in the European Union. It promotes European variety and teaches respect for it, enabling young people from different cultures to carry out collective actions, therefore creating broad possibilities of intercultural learning. The project gives the volunteers the opportunity to influence decisions on the project and the opportunity to change the direction of the learning process. Thus the project includes activities such as: language lessons, cuisine workshops, art workshops, activities with children and the youth also those educationally neglected and multimedia presentations about all the countries, all led by the volunteers.
