Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

"European Youth Week - it's my place!" is a project dedicated to young people from Opolskie region, aimed at increasing their opportunities to develop and strengthen the capacity of young people in the region. At the core of the idea is striving to increase the active participation young people in the social, cultural or political life. We want to give them the tools to support their development, as well as the opportunity to speak out on issues important to them. The idea of the project is to exchange experiences and views among its participants. The diversity of approaches to the same problem makes leads to generate multiple solutions that probably would never have arisen in other circumstances. ETM is also a learning dialogue between young people and the different types of institutions or agencies. It is a possibility of naming mutual expectations, the search for common solutions and opportunities. And all of this is in order to involve young people in what is happening around them, to increase their level of self-awareness, and that as adults already people were able to take responsibility for their country and region. The seminar, which is the main part of the project, will be held on 5-7 May in Opole. In the meeting will take part 50 young people aged between 16 and 19 years from all over the Opole Province as well as invited guests - representatives of the institutions responsible for supporting youth and NGOs. In addition to discussions with the authorities, there will held Open Space Conference and open workshops for young people, showing the various possibilities of activity. We want to encourage young people to plan their development in the region as well as learn what actions should be taken to stop their leaving Opole province at the start of adulthood. Moreover, our aim is to highlight the potential resting in youth and outline actions that the development of this potential can support. We hope to get the message that it is worth to invest in young people, to the inhabitants of Opole, also through a set of interactive outdoor projects. We hope that the outcome of the project will be starting work on the development of the regional comprehensive, long-term youth policy. We hope that the measures taken to increase the opportunities for the development of young people in the Opole region will contribute to a better environment to education and work for them, and thus will make the greater part of young people will want to stay and grow in the region.
