Zespół Szkół Łączności located in Gliwice worked out an application within the framework of Erasmus + entitled “European internship - a chance for the future.” The project will concern the VET learners and teachers. The participants will be the students of current 1st and 2nd classes interested in gaining new professional competence in IT, logistics, forwarding and electronics sectors. The programme intertwines two groups; students and teachers. The aim of the programme is serving one month students’ internship abroad, due to which students will gain new practical experience and enhance their professional abilities, they’ll check themselves on the new vocational field, increase their independence by breaking the language barriers and establishing international contacts and relationships. Involvement in internship will result in improvement of professional, language, cultural and interpersonal skills, students will increase a chance of being employed on the domestic and European work market. The second aim is familiarizing with the procedures of establishing the companies in Spain and Germany, the comparison of the systems of our work markets and raising the language competence with the emphasis on the business language. The expected results are: gaining additional abilities confirmed by the Europass Mobility document and E. Language Passport, the certificate issued by the partner company, recommendation letters from the entrepreneurs, decreasing the unemployment rate by the graduates, improvement of the English and German language with the possibility of improving the specific vocational language, and gaining new skills in the area of professional and interpersonal development. It is a perfect solution for students whose financial situation stops them from taking part in that kind of venture. 10 teachers will participate in the programme by Portuguese company, which was chosen mainly due tot the fact that the internship may be held during the holidays period. The internship is the professional development, the implementation of latest technologies, and innovative teaching methods. The teachers will have the opportunity of visiting enterprises and scrutinize personally the theoretical knowledge they pass on students in practice. We established co-operation with the following companies: European Projects Development, Portugal, TRIBEKA TRAINING LAB S.L., Spain, BERLINK, Germany. The firms have been experienced in that type of projects and meet the needs of ZSŁ. All the three companies co-operate with a variety of institutions. They collaborate with different branches of industry, which stands for experience and versatility. They also implement the ECVET system. They offer professional and safe places of good internship. The project will last 2 years. The students will participate in: April/May 2016 -20 students and 2 teachers specializing in IT and logistics will go to Spain, April/May 2017 GROUP 1 -20 students and 2 teachers specializing in IT, logistics and forwarding will go to Spain, GROUP 2 -20 students and 2 teachers specializing in IT, logistics and forwarding will go to Germany 10 teachers specializing in IT, logistics and vocational languages will do the job shadowing during July/August 2016. The project will be conducted for a period of 2 weeks, for 60 students. Students will be accompanied by 6 teachers whose duties will include ensuring the safety of the participants, fulfilling the internship, and job shadowing and getting the knowledge of teaching methods and technology. The school has a little experience in realizing that type of venture but participated as a partner in other projects. In 2014 there was a project from EFS programme - "Practice a key to success." 100 students of all specialties took part in the vocational internship in co-operation with the entrepreneurs from the region, mainly Gliwice. Currently we are preparing the internship for 42 students and 10 teachers in Ireland. The project which is entitled "Europe is open - gain the vocational experience," is held as part of Po Wer programme. Implementation of the mobilities mentioned above will: enable the school for development, enhance the vocational profile, reinforce on the local educational market, give the young, often excluded people, the chance for personal development, increase the professional, language and interpersonal competence. Young people will raise the cultural awareness, broaden the knowledge about the European project and the European Union values. Local entrepreneurs, will gain in the future well-educated and prepared to work employees, which will contribute to decreasing the unemployment rate in the region. The teachers will get to know the specificity of work. Having acquainted with foreign work market, the teachers will know what aspects should be emphasized, what to focus on while teaching their subjects, so the abilities gained by students will meet the requirements of Polish, as well as oversees employers.
