Start date: Dec 10, 2014, End date: Dec 9, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Nowadays, one of the most important indicators of the development of the civilisation is the continuous development of professional skills and openness to the needs of the labour market. Due to the fact that the population is aging (not only Polish but this problem also applies to other European countries) the demand for qualified medical and caring staff is continuously increasing. According to many forecasts concerning the labour market, a medical caregiver will be one of the most sought-after professions in a very short future. It is already noticeable that there is an increased demand for professional carers for elderly, which amplifies the opportunities for employment in Poland as well as in other European countries. At times when there is a lot of competition in the labour, people who want to function properly need to possess special abilities, relevant predispositions, and professional and social qualifications. That is why it is extremely important to us that our students gain those skills, which will allow them to become sought and competitive professionals on the labour market. The priority of our project is the exchange of professional experiences and culture. It is extremely important to us that through participation in international work placements/ practices/ workshops our students will obtain the possibility of international cooperation and will be willing to reap the knowledge they will have the chance to explore participating in the project . Our project also gives the opportunity to students to familiarise themselves with the systems of education, social institutions, and allows them to get to know other, very often, more modern working techniques used in the medical sector in Germany. In addition, participants will be able to verify already possessed and acquire new language skills that are extremely important asset nowadays. This project is addressed to our students ( 16 people) who have completed the first year of medical school , or have graduated in 2013 and have a theoretical base as well as a practical view of the future profession and demonstrated their commitment to and hard work during the practical training and theoretical sessions. Furthermore, our participants will be adults (18+) , who speak German or English at a communicative level . Participants will include both women and men . After the selection process, a group of trainees will attend an intensive language (German and English) course for 3 months before going to Germany. In order to be able to identify the tasks facing the students they will familiarise themselves with the specific objectives of the project and will create the exact scenario of their residence in our partner institution. Three months before the departure, the project coordinators will visit the places of practice in Germany to make sure that all the objectives set can be achieved in those institutions. Finally, students will be introduced to those places by the coordinators. During the stay at the partner institution, students will receive their training at school as well as at different medical centres. After returning to Poland, the learners will evaluate their practice. Moreover, at meetings organized with the rest of the students and media representatives the participants will share their experiences and will present solutions and innovations worth considering and which they gained abroad. During the project, we will use practical methods i.e. the method of workshops and projects, practical work during their stay in Germany, and dissemination of the results upon the return. We anticipate that the project described above will have a direct impact on students and teachers in the form of : - learning and broadening methods, forms and techniques of direct care and treatment of people in need; - the opportunity to learn German language and culture , - verification of the theoretical knowledge and practical work ; - the ability to find themselves and use positively the international labour market ; The impact of the project will also be seen after the project is finished as participants will apply good practices and observed solutions, methods and techniques to institutions and centres where they will work.
