The main objective of the project is the career development of the students and graduates of the Technical School Complex in Strzyżów, to increase their employability and mobility in the labor market through participation in the internship abroad. The specific objectives of the project are:• to acquire key qualifications to increase chances of obtaining future employment, confirmed by an international certificate,• to consolidate and expand professional skills required by Polish and European employers,• to gain work experience in an international environment,• to allow the participants to familiarize themselves with and compare the different aspects of entrepreneurial activity in both countries,• to learn work rules and standards in an international environment,• to strengthen foreign language and professional language skills,• to acquire the social competencies necessary for mobility in the European and national labor market,• to elevate to the next vocational education level,• to support participants coming from areas threatened by high unemployment, • to expand the knowledge of German culture and customs. The participants of the project will be youth between the ages of 17-18 years old - 60 students in their 2nd and 3rd years at the Technical School Complex in Strzyżów learning the professions of automotive technician, mechanical technician, economic technician, commerce technician, IT technician and hairdressing services; as well as 10 graduates of the Technical School Complex in Strzyżów specializing in the professions of automotive technician, mechanical technician, economic technician, commerce technician, who will leave for the internships within 2 months of graduation.The students will leave for the 4-week internship divided into two 30-people rounds on the following dates: the first round in May 2017, the second round in May 2018. The departure of the graduates of the school is planned to be in two 5-people groups. A group of technical school graduates in the 2016/2017 school year will go on a 4-week internship along with the first round of students in May 2017, while a group of technical school graduates in the 2017/2018 school year will go on the international internship with the second round of students in May 2018.The project was created in response to the difficult situation of the graduates of our school. The participants of the project come from rural areas and small towns, characterized by weak infrastructural and economic development, as well as high structural unemployment. After graduating from school, they will become a part of a group potentially threatened by high unemployment, as well as individuals threatened by social exclusion.Through participation in the project, the students will have the opportunity to gain skills and social competencies considered unique in the local labor marker, necessary in their future careers: problem-solving, adaptability to new situations, entrepreneurship, the ability to apply theory in practice, teamwork, knowledge of a foreign language, including industry language. The internship abroad will allow participants to gain knowledge about European standards of the organizational and functional structure of companies, how they manage, their range of activities, the rights and responsibilities of the workplace, and to compare these methods and solutions with Polish ones. Students and graduates of the school will learn modern tools, methods of production and provision of services used in their industry. Thanks to the international certificates, as well as the skills, work experience and social competencies gained, they will strengthen their position in the national and European labor market. By residing in another country, participants will get to know its culture and history, and learn respect and tolerance of other nations. By participating in the project, the school will enrich its offerings and increase its prestige in the local environment, resulting in the greater interest of youth in technical profession education. The realization and dissemination of project results will positively influence the development of the region. It will also show local businesses the opportunities that stem from collaboration with German companies and show the local population the idea of “learning for life.”
