After Easter 2014 , our second youth meeting „Youth Congress 2015 – Female Leadership in Capoeira Angola part 2“ will once again aim to address the exclusion of women from leading positions in Capoeira Angola Groups, which is in itself a reflection of our society. To do so we will invite 60 participants aged 15 – 30 from Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Poland, Netherlands and Germany to our youth meeting in Berlin. For eight days we will discuss equality in male dominated social groups and try to develop strategies. As such we will utilize the history and tradition of Capoeira Angola, which developed as a form of resistance against oppression. Besides workshops in Capoeira Angola, dance, music, didactics and Capoeira-history we will have lectures and discussions about different experiences of female Angoleiras, from their country-specific perspectives. The goal of the project is the intercultural exchange and networking of participants from different national, social and cultural backgrounds, empowering them in their right for leadership-roles in our society and in Capoeira Angola Groups. The 2015 congress is a continuation of an evolving process we initiated in 2014. As such we shall draw on the experiences and knowledge already gained at previous encounters.
