2015 European Week of Sport (EWoS) events involved more than 20 000 people in Lithuania. More than 160 events took place not only in cities but also in small towns in regions, totally more than 30 cities. Events and activities involved so many different people from small children to parents, National Parlament members and grandparents who did sports with their kids and grandkids, walked in Nordic walking tours and did so many other activities. Having experience of coordinating EWoS in Lithuania last year and more than 20 years experience in organising sport events, projects in our, this year we have found out how to organise and coordinate EWoS in Lithuania more efficiently and spreading its idea more widely to all regions. Vilnius (the capital city) will host the largest National event, which will be a sound start – the beginning of the EWoS project in Lithuania. The closing event will take place in Utena. Also regional and local events which will involve different target groups: families, bussiness organisation teams, kids in kindegardens, pupils, students, seniours, etc. The project idea is purposefully oriented to accessibility – to make every willing person feel himself part of the project.The selected actions enable a cost-effective inclusion in the EWoS all those interested in this project, i.e. do not preclude any initiatives and participation of individuals. By the national events we wish everyone to experience the feeling of commonness of sport. This year we concentrate on spreading #BEACTIVE EWoS idea and news about this initiative in mass media – website beactive.lt for spreading information about initiative locally in Lithuania, national and regional press, national radio, TV and internet TV live broadcast from national events and reports, most popular internet news websites, social media. Selected communication tools and channels mix will reach different target audiences, so EWoS initiative idea will spread widely in regions of Lithuania.
