European Week of Sport is planned as one of the widest and most important project on the field of sport for all in year 2016. As the Olympic Games Rio 2016 takes place in August and the summer holiday’s ends with August we set up the dates of NWoS 2016 between Friday, 9th and Sunday, 18th September 2016. It will enable us to involve schools and companies as well as other stakeholders, important partners of EWoS. There will be enough time for all of them after summer holidays to actively participate to EWoS 2016 in Slovenia. Moreover, September is also the best month for sport organizations, clubs and other associations for the activities that invite people to become their members and take part of sport practices.The Olympic Committee of Slovenia – Association of Sports Federations is going to be a national coordination body for EWoS in Slovenia. We are going to implement several sporting events, and especially motivate different target groups to participate in sport. For reaching expected outcomes and for sharing the information among general public, we are going to lead media campaign, organize press conferences… Very important part of the project is Week of open doors of sport clubs and sport programs. Activities of the EWoS in Slovenia are going to be organized for all age groups, without discrimination to any specific target group.
