We want to raise awareness among young people and organizations on European citizenship and the rights it entails. Within a framework of not only economic crisis but of lack of confidence in the EU it is necessary to discuss the advantages of EU membership and develop a sense of belonging. In addition, there is great ignorance towards the EU, European citizenship, European rights and European values, not only in our experience and our partners, but it is confirmed by the latest Eurobarometer last February 2013. TOPIC: awareness of European citizens and their rights. OBJECTIVES: - Clarify the concept of European citizenship, divided into 4 dimensions: cultural, social, economic and legal. - Know the rights as European citizens - Encourage active participation of young people in society learning to use and defend the rights acquired democratically. - Know European institutions at the service of citizens that provide information and advice on their rights. - Reflect on European identity, values and cultures that shape and foster rapprochement between our cultures. - Promote intercultural dialogue among young people to express their ideas democratically The youth exchange took place in Jerez de la Frontera and Chiclana de la Frontera, Cadiz province, Spain, from 14th to 24th, September 2015, with a total duration of 4 months. It involved 39 participants between 18 and 30 years, half of them with economic, geographical and cultural barriers, from 6 countries: Italy, Estonia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Turkey and Spain.
