EUROPEAN RED RIDING HOODS
Start date: Jun 17, 2014, End date: Nov 16, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project „European Red Riding Hoods” is addressed to the young people from Poland and France. It is a continuation of two projects realized in France in 2012 and 2013 and we will use the skills and knowledge acquired during them . The project will take place in Poland in Alwernia (the town of coordinating organisation) and Żywiec (town in Beskid Żywiecki) . It has the following objectives: -Celebrating diversity -to learn about each other in order to build a community based on common values of respect, tolerance, equality of opportunity -Raising intercultural awareness -Establishing a youth activity open for participants with fewer opportunities -Enlarging the scope of knowledge of the youth on European citizenship -Fighting stereotype and xenophobia - Strengthening tolerance The working methods will be varied and interactive : drama, theatre and art workshops will be combined with games and excursions. Participants will move beyond the cultural and national boundaries which divide them while finding new ways of interacting and cooperating through drama. They will find common ways of communicating with each other, despite the fact that they speak different languages. The theatre play ,that they will be producing together with help of an actor, is one of the methods which will help them to learn more about each other. On the basis of well-known fairy tale “Little Red Riding Hood” the participants will create an innovative play . In their story the wolf will meet several Red Riding Hoods from different countries. Thus the participants will have the opportunity to fight stereotypes and strengthen the integration. Presentation of their work- performance - will take place twice at the end of their stay in Żywiec and in Alwernia. There will be also a photo exhibition. The information of the project will appear on the website of Stowarzyszenie Młoda Alwernia and in the local newspaper in order to share experiences. The participants will get many important skills and experiences according to the competencies described in the Youthpass They will also get some information about European programmes for young people. They will be encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities offered by these programmes. We hope they will become leaders in their communities. There are 43 participants in the project including young people from different backgrounds at age of 13 to 19.
