EUROPEAN NADAUD VOCATIONAL ORIGINAL LEARNING
Start date: Dec 5, 2014, End date: Dec 4, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

At Martin NADAUD High school, a vocational/technology school in Paris, students in professional baccalaureat programs such as business management, secretarial work, hospitality and transport specialities are encouraged to master a foreign language to encourage further study and to greatly increase their chances of employment in Europe. Three years ago, a European section was created for students aged 15-16 years old and who volunteered to participate in the program, had never studied English outside the foreign language classroom. These students, often coming form low socioeconomic backgrounds, with no experience of a stay in another european country, had to improve in spoken English. They have made great progress and felt ready to complete a training period abroad. The goal of Project ENVOL - European Nadaud Vocational Original Learning -, presented here, was to permit these students to complete a part of their studies in Europe, to expose to European culture, to practise English in the workplace and to enable them develop a taste for European mobility, by partnering with an experienced language and professional study program organizer in Europe. Six students (five girls and a boy) spent 4 weeks in Woking (Surrey), Great Britain from March 2nd, 2015 to March 27th, 2015. They have all passed their high school exam in Management and Administration in June 2015, at the end of the three years. They carried out different kind of tasks according to their level of language skills and according to the field of the host company. They mainly realized administrative activities. The objectives achieved are the following ones : - the increase language skills, - the motivation to pursue studies or to renew the experience of an international mobility, - a better mastering of relational codes. The positive results are the following ones : - the increased promotion of the European section, - the diversification of school program, - the increased attractivness for the school community (students, families and teachers).
