The American University in Bulgaria is applying for a new Jean Monnet Module on “ European Lobbying: Interest Groups and European Integration”. This module will introduce a brand new course on a topic that is not widely taught in Bulgaria and not yet at the American University in Bulgaria. The proposed module will contribute to equip students and young professionals with knowledge of European Union subjects relevant for their academic and professional lives and enhance their civic skills. Indeed lobbies and interest groups established in Brussels represents an important reservoir for possible future careers. The module is also centered on an active cooperation with practitioners and policy-makers involved in EU policies and in these lobbying activities. The main objectives of the project are to develop a new course based on the use of new teaching methods based on the idea of policy oriented course, an academic interest in the new field of lobbying activities and the activities of interest groups both at the national level in Bulgaria and at the EU level, a professional interest in the new field of lobbying activities and the activities of interest groups both at the national level in Bulgaria and at the EU level.
