European Live Art Archive

The creation of a performance/live art archive that will centralise and monitor as many of the small dispersed archives around Europe and in third countries, and the development of a year round live art programme in three European countries.ELAA IS- An archive in Spain, including a specialist library and database.- A network of European festivals, archives, practitioners and academics.- An annual programme of performance/live art events and filmed interviews of performance artists in Spain, United Kingdom and Germany.- A website to promote the activities of the archive. - A biannual international symposium.- An educational programmeELAA AIMS TO- Support the trans-national mobility of people working in performance/live art.- Encourage intercultural dialogue using all new media channels.- Develop new routes for performance artists and academics.- Promote scholarship and progress by increasing the availability of information for research, education, and understanding of performance/live art.- Promote creativity and understanding of cultural diversity to a national and international audience. - Ensure the inter-generational transmission of experience and knowledge.ELAA OUTPUT- NETWORK ACTIVITY: ELAA is a new European network of live art festivals, academics, curators, critics, artists and writers, which aims to share knowledge, experience and documentation.- PRODUCTION: ELAA will commission new European performance art works and academic studies and publications. - EXHIBITION: The partners will organise and present performance/live art events.- EDUCATION: Activities ranging from personal tutorials with student artists to presentations by professionals within the field alongside related workshops.The coordinator of the project is the Chair of Contemporary art nad Culture, Girona University (ES). The co-organisers are Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine art, Oxford University (UK) GlogaurAIR, Berlin (D)
