European House in Guria: Extended
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: Sep 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED 

The project "European House in Guria: Extended" will take place in Western Georgia, Guria region and will host 2 Latvian volunteers for 11 months (September 2016- July 2017). The volunteers will deal with youth activities, local community projects for the children and young people in the city Ozurgeti as well as in nearby rural areas. The hosting organization plans to continue the development of a common European space (HOUSE). That is a space where the awareness of the meaning of European citizenship will be raised as well as the histories and traditions of Latvia and Baltic States in general as well as of other European countries will be gathered and implemented in the development of Georgian youth. Therefore they could use European ways of non-formal and formal education and active participation, and contribute to the civil society and local community development.The project is also aiming to promote solidarity and the importance of cultural diversity and mutual understanding among young people. It is promoting the recognition of volunteering as well as the importance of active civil society. Moreover it is raising intercultural understanding. Wide range of activities (workshops, information campaigns, cultural and education events) will help the participants to create new contacts and make steps for personal and professional development.
