European Dimension of Intergeneration Dialogue
Start date: Dec 1, 2012,

The main aim of the project is to support development of democratic and open society by promotion of tolerance and intergeneration and intercultural integration of young European volunteers, Ukrainian children, youth and eldery people. 6 volunteers from 4 European countries - Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Portugal - will work together, involving Ukrainian youngsters as translators and helpers, in Ukrainian youth centres in Donetsk providing children and seniors with activities related to non-formal education (sport and game activities, language animation classes, intercultural sessions, hand-craft activities). Idea to let young European volunteers work with two different age groups - children and elderies and to create intergenaration dialogue between them is new for Ukrainian youth centres, but was partly applied during previous individual EVS projects of hosting organisation. The project activities will last 6 months - from January, 2013 till May, 2013. 4 sending organisations and one hosting which is also playing role of coordinating organisation are involved. Project will be developed and organised in close cooperation of all the partners involved. All the activities of the project will be based on methods of non-formal education. Local authorities of hosting city will be involved both by financial and logistical support.
