EUROPE +
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Since 2012, Institution Robin has set a priority on its internationalization. In this perspective, the Europe + programme was created in the school. It aims at offering the opportunity for adults (teaching staff or non-teaching staff) to go to 5 sister schools in 5 countries in Europe (Norway, Scotland, Germany, Spain and Italy) for observation missions on a aspects pre-set by teachers : foreign language learning, activities set to facilitate learning and the evaluation methods in language classes. These observations will lead to highlight the positive aspects seen in each country in order to consider experiencing some of these methods in the Institution. After a first year enreiched by positive feedbacks with mre than 15 adults involved in mobilities, the school has chosen to venture in a larger application on a two-year basis. This would allow the school to offer this opportunity to a larger number of adults and at the same time, it would give more time to have the programme run properly. Therefore for 8 days, in immersion in the sister school, teachers and non teaching staff will carry on observation mission of techniques that will seem innovative and efficient in language classes. The final abjective is t be able to import some of it in Institution Robin, first in test-classes, then to extend to all the classes. In order to carry on these observation, sister schools have accepted to open their classrooms for some subjects on a given time. Teachers wil thus be able to assess both positive and negative aspects. During thes mobilities, there is a large room for concerting and sharing with le host school staff (teaching and non-teaching staff). As a reminder, we’ve chosen to have adults go in groups to enrich these observations thanks to varied and diverses point of views and focuses. Institution Robin relies on its International Relation Service to manage the project. They are in charge of calling and conducting meetings, as well as reporting, not mentioning the management of all logistic aspects of mobilities. The member of staff involved (be it a teacher or not) will therefore be focused only on the objective, and put all their energy on that matter to get the most and the best out of this experience for themselves, for the students and the school. Thanks to « Europe + », Institution Robin expect an improvement in innovation as for foreign languages learning is concerned, and also in its assement methods inspired from simple scheme already effective in other countries. However, beyond this very practical aspect, Institution Robin expect the rise of a dynamic for an international mindset, as part of it European development scheme which goals for 2020 are : increasing the number of mobilities for students, increasing the number of partners in Europe, developing professional training over long periods in foreign companies, organizing an international conferences on teaching innovations with all its sister schools around the world. These are as many aspects that require a large and steady investment, on the long term from people having a sharp consciousness of international matters. The « Europe + » scheme is of a long run, it can thus allow to create an actual dynamic for innovation an internationalization.
