Europe through games
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Jul 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

‘Learn Europe through games’ is a project focusing on education, on the ‘idea of Europe’ and on the promotion of Robert Schuman’s ideas. Within the common framework of the educational service of the CERS, the motivated and dynamic volunteer will promote and facilitate pedagogical activities, which are playful and fun (approx. 7000 students per school year). The goal of these activities is the awareness of young people to some European issues and new challenges for the EU. One of our main mission is also to encourage further active participation in the European democratic process and to promote mobility. In cooperation with professional animators of the CERS, the European volunteers will put into pratice the methods and technics of non formal education to allow young people ‘to learn Europe in another way’. These workshops are designed like games: a giant puzzle of the European Union, a european rallye, a memory of Europe, a European lotto, a Euromind… The volunteer can develop initiatives and is encouraged to run a personal project as long as it corresponds to the aims defined by the educational team and the host organization. The volunteer will be able to work in a free space of cooperation, coordination, in which he/she is asked to achieve some daily concrete tasks, but certainly to go beyond that. Great importance is given to the training and education of the volunteer.
