Europe of Adolescent
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The EuropAdo project was born from the desire of the Belgium, French and Polish partners to involve in a dynamic youth project supporting the reflection on male-female relations in general. Since, there are still different prejudices and stereotypes in this topic, we wish to gain and open-minded spirit, thanks to this cultural exchange. Our goals are also to become an actor and carrier of the voice of youth, but also to challenge society and the policitics on this issue which concerns us.The project will bring 30 young boys and girls aged 13-18 years old, to reflect and build parallel relevant actions on the local level. We aim to raise awareness, and hopefully to find concrete ways to reach and awake the collective conscience to the problems of inequality, prejudice, violence present in boy-girl relationships.Initially, all young people will engage in actions in their home environments, where other youngsters will join them. There are three meetings planned.First in Belgium: to exchange the relations between boys and girls in our home countries and regions respectively. We will share prepared videos and ideas for the actions we will tackle, for this reason we will prepare a video.Second in France: to updated on local actions already carried out, to evaluate whether it works or not, adjust our activities and to reflect on a common action. The last meeting will take place in Poland: to evaluate all the previous actions, to discuss how to make our project sustainable after the actions finish, and to reflect on the ways to improve the boys-girls relations. For each of these meetings, 6 animators will guide us. In the end, we will create together a film, in order to educate more people. Between each meeting, we will provide discussion panels between involved partners (or representatives of each youth group) via Skype and facebook to stay in touch and to discuss how our actions evolved. We are young people motivated to change things around. We meet often with social difficulties, complicated relations, and financial obstacles to find meaning in perspectives, which we are being given. We are especially affected by the difficult issues connected to relations between girls and boys that we face in our daily lives.Throughout the project we will be trained at various levels, raising awareness of the major issues (inequality, violence, prejudice, stereotypes, etc.), introduction to the video tool, small workshops on shooting and montage, piece of acting, workshop on active citizenship etc. During the three planned meetings we will participate in intercultural workshops, reflections, decision-making, and finally both creating and filming with montage our common movie.Regarding the used methodologies, they are primarily informal learning, related to participatory pedagogy and the method of active citizenship. Mutual learning is the essential goal we intend to reach.Through this experience, we wish to involve in this project from its creation until its realization. But also, we want take responsibilities and act in our societies, representing youth on the local level. We really want to improve the female-male relations and to reach out to the largest audience with this problem. We hope that in the long term, we will have more self-confidence; open up to the outside and that we will be able to speak about this experience as an opportunity to live the dreams by building and believing in them.
